Jaipur Beginnings
Chapter 1 · Childhood in Jaipur
I was born in Jaipur on 26 October 1979. My childhood was full of small joys: festivals, friendships and everyday moments with the people I loved. Even then I was drawn to fashion. Nothing about those years was extraordinary, and that is exactly why they mattered. They taught me that happiness does not wait for big achievements. It lives in ordinary moments, and I have carried that lesson with me ever since.
Commerce in the Mind, Fashion in the Heart
Chapter 2 · Student years
I completed my B.Com. and M.Com. at the University of Rajasthan. In 1997–98 I also earned a Diploma in Fashion Designing at the School of Art & Fashion, Jaipur. Commerce taught me discipline and numbers. Fashion taught me to see beauty in detail. I never wanted to choose one over the other, and today I use both: the practical mind of a business owner and the eye of a designer.
Earning My Own Way
Chapter 3 · Early career
I wanted to stand on my own feet, so I worked even while I studied. Over the years I took roles at Eureka Forbes and Unicorn Investment, worked in finance and insurance, and taught as faculty in fashion design. Each job gave me something: confidence, discipline and the belief that I could earn my own way. That independence became the foundation of everything I built later.
When Life Changed Its Course
Chapter 4 · A turning point
Life did not always go the way I planned. There were turns I did not choose and moments that tested me. What I could choose was how to respond. I responded with faith, hard work and a refusal to stop. Those years taught me that strength is not about avoiding hard times. It is about walking through them and coming out clearer about who you are.
Inheriting More Than a Business
Chapter 5 · 2023
In 2023 I lost my father. He had built Soni Jewellery on trust, quality and customised work, and when the time came, I stepped forward to lead it. I did not only receive a business. I received his name, his standards and his customers’ trust. I promised myself to protect all three, and to make the legacy my own with honest work and a designer’s eye.
Learning to Handle Everything
Chapter 6 · Motherhood and responsibility
As a mother of two, I learned to carry family, work and responsibility together. There were days when everything needed me at once. Those days taught me patience, resilience and a strength I did not know I had. I want my children to look at me with pride, and that wish has guided many of my decisions.
Compassion, Enterprise and Recognition
Chapter 7 · 2026
I never worked for applause. I look after four dogs at home, help animals in need, and support the people around me when I can. In 2026 that work was noticed. I was appointed National Board Member of the Human Rights Council of India, I received eight honours, and London Herald featured me on its cover. Recognition did not change what I do. It reminded me to keep giving.
Choosing Myself, Moving Forward
Chapter 8 · Today
I learned to stop waiting for permission and to choose myself. I believe in working for yourself, keeping your intentions honest, ignoring the voices that discourage you, and thanking God for every step. These are not slogans. They are what my life taught me, one chapter at a time.
My Next Chapter
Chapter 9 · Ahead
My story is not finished. I want to grow what my father built, serve where I can, and become someone my children are proud of. If my journey has shown anything, it is that you can choose your direction even when life changes its course. I hope it helps someone else choose theirs.
